We founded Applied Financial Strategies, LLC with a goal to help people gain financial independence. We specialize in planning for those over the age of 50. We develop plans that reflect clients' current situations and provide direction for the future. We integrate ongoing planning with the management of client assets. With over forty years of industry experience, we bring the essential skills, resources, education and discipline to effectively guide our clients.

Our aim is to help you design a customized plan based on your long-term objectives. We believe that our efforts can benefit you and your family for generations to come, so we offer our advice and resources with the long view in mind. Robert E. Leger, CLU, ChFC

President, Applied Financial Strategies


Bob graduated with a B.S. degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Following extensive course work and rigorous examinations, he was granted the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Bob brings his clients over 40 years of experience and a wealth of expertise in many areas including; customized individual financial plans, investment management, executive benefit and business succession plans, retirement and estate planning strategies. Bob works with a diverse clientele which includes affluent individuals and families, business owners and executives, professionals and retirees.

Bob is a Series 7 General Securities Registered Representative of Osaic Wealth Inc., a Registered Broker Dealer.

He is also an Investment Advisor Representative of Osaic Wealth Inc., a Registered Investment Advisor.

Being dually registered, he always places the needs and best interests of his clients first, without regard to compensation when acting as either a Registered Representative or an Investment Advisor Representative.

Bob is a licensed insurance agent for life, health, disability income, and variable contracts. 

Bob is a member of the National Association of Insurance and the Financial Advisors and the Financial Services Institute.

Bob is married to Cheryl. They have two grown children; Katie, a biomedical engineer and Chris, an administrator at Baptist Hospital Memphis. When Bob isn’t helping his clients reach their financial and life goals, he enjoys gardening with Cheryl. He also enjoys fishing, RV camping and backpacking. Bob was a volunteer with the Chickasaw Council Boy Scouts of America for 22 years serving in many pack, troop and district positions. He earned the Eastern District Award of Merit and the Chickasaw Council Silver Beaver Award.

Stacy joined Applied Financial Strategies in 2015 bringing over 20 years of business experience. Clients enjoy her prompt, friendly service. She understands the importance of maintaining good client relationships and is committed to helping Mr. Leger service his clients. Stacy is a Notary Public, a native Memphian and graduated with honors from the University of Memphis.
